Rayhorn, Ralph (26 JUL 1915 - 22 JUN 1984)


Funeral services for Ralph Rayhorn, Loyal, Clark County, were held at 1:30 p.m., Tuesday, June 26, 1984, at the Loyal Cemetery, with the Loyal American Legion providing full military rites. A memorial service followed at 2 p.m. at the United Methodist Church, Loyal. Rev. Arlene Denzer officiated. Pallbearers were Monty Cox, Doug Cox, Fred Cox Jr., Terry Cole, Mark Cole and Tom Brussow.

Mr. Rayhorn, 68, died Friday evening, June 22, 1984, at St. Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield, where he was admitted June 13.

A Masonic service was held at 8 p.m. Monday, June 25, at the Rinka Funeral Home in Loyal.

He was born July 26, 1915, in Ridott, Ill. to Carl and Minettie Rayhorn. He received his education at Marshfield High School and attended the University of Wis. - Madison. On Oct. 1, 1940 at Waukon, Iowa, he married Gladys Anderegg.

A veteran of World War II, he was a member of the Loyal American Legion Post 175 a Masonic member a member of the United Methodist Church of Loyal and a 25-year member of United Commercial Travelers.

After military service, he was in partnership at Northside Elevator, Loyal from 1949 - 1952. Until 1955 he was a salesman for Murphy Feeds and then became a police officer for the City of Loyal from 1955 - 1958, when he became a manager at Fleet Farm until his retirement in 1972.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.

Surviving are his wife two sons, Jeffrey of Ashland and Bruce of Loyal three daughters, Mrs. Russell (Vicki) Weichelt, Mrs. Roger (Wendy) Zopfi and Mrs. Steve (Lana) Kruger, all of Marshfield two sisters, Mrs. Forest (Mabel) Cole of Marshfield and Mrs. Joe (Arlene) Brocco of LaCrosse and 15 grandchildren.

Rinka Funeral Home handled arrangements.
