Waldhauser, Andrew (12 APR 1902 - 29 JUL 1984)


Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 3, at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Loyal for Andrew Waldhauser, 82, of Loyal. He died at 6:57 p.m. Sunday, July 29, 1984 at St. Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield, where he was admitted July 12.

The Rev. James Logan will officiate and burial will be in the parish cemetery. Pallbearers will be grandsons, Dan, Jim, Dale, Steve and Andrew Waldhauser, and William Ritzmand.

Visitation will be after 3 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 2, at Rinka Funeral Home, Loyal, where St. Anthony's Parish Council of Catholic Women will say the rosary at 3:15. A prayer service will follow at 8 p.m.

Mr. Waldhauser was born April 12, 1902, in Tudlen, Austria, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Paul (Theresa) Waldhauser, and received his education in schools there. He came to the United States in 1925, settling in South St. Paul, Minn. On Oct. 15, 1929 in St. Bernard's Catholic Church parsonage, st. Paul, Minn. he married Catherine Wolkerstorfer. They observed their golden wedding anniversary Oct. 14, 1979.

After their marriage they moved to Milwaukee, where he was employed by Swift Co. In 1947 they moved to the Loyal, Clark County area and farmed in the Town of Sherman until retiring from farming in 1971. They then moved to Loyal, where they resided ever since.

Mr. Waldhauser was active in the Green Thumb Program for 10 years and as a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church.

Surviving are his wife four sons, Robert of Loyal, Larry of Fridley, Minn., Norman of Sussex and Raymond with the U.S. Navy and 22 grandchildren.

He was predeceased by several brothers and sisters.
