Jacque, Marlis Mae (5 December 1946 - 29 December 2012)

Marlis M. Jacque, age 66, of Thorp, passed away at her home on Saturday, December 29, 2012. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 5, 2012, at St. Bernard-St. Hedwig Catholic Church, in Thorp. Visitation will be held at the church, on Saturday from 1:00 p.m. until time of service.

Marlis M. Jacque, age 66, of Thorp, passed away at her home on Saturday, December 29, 2012. Funeral services were held a t 2 p.m. on Saturday, January 5, 2013, at St. Bernard-St. Hedwig Catholic Church in Thorp with rev. Don Meuret officiating. Burial will take place in St. Bernard’s Catholic Cemetery at a later date. Visitation was held at the church, on Saturday, from 1 p.m. until time of service.

Marlis Mae Jacque was born on December 5, 1946, in Thorp, WI, the daughter of Anton and Sylvia (Swienton) Jacque. She was raised on the family farm and received her education in the Thorp area. After her schooling, Marlis moved to the Twin Cities, where she worked at Univac for a short time. She then worked at Packerland, in Chippewa Falls, as a meat cutter, and later was employed at the Clark County Health Care enter farm, in Owen, where she pasteurized and bottled milk. Marlis went back to work as a meat cutter at Abbyland Meats in Curtiss for several years and then semi-retired and worked part-time at Abbyland and Thorp Area Equipment.

She was a member of St. Bernard-St. Hedwig Catholic Church and its PCCW, the Northern Clark County ATVer’s Club, the Circle T Saddle Club and the Roosevelt Rod & Gun Club. Marlis had many interests, but especially loved riding horses, fishing, working outdoors, mowing lawns, bowling, playing pool and riding ATV’s.

She will be dearly missed by two brothers: Richard (Janette) Jacque and Frank “Huntz” (Kathy) Jacque, both of Thorp; two sisters: Sheila (Wayne) Moore and Evie (Denny) Fosterling, both of Thorp; her longtime friend and companion, Tom Hempelman of Thorp.; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Marlis was preceded in death by her parents; and three brothers: Douglas and Gregory, and Anthony in Infancy.
