Schaele, Rudolph (17 April 1877 - 7 January 1968)

Funeral services were held Wednesday from the Georgas Funeral Home for Rudolph C. Schaele of Neillsville, who died here Sunday. The Rev. Norman W. Lindloff of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church officiated. Burial was made in the Neillsville City Cemetery.

Mr. Schaele was born April 17, 1877, in Buschdorf, Germany, and came to the United States at age 16. He located in Nebraska and two years later moved to Dodge County Wisconsin.

He was married September 23, 1901, to the former Anna Schmidt in Fond du Lac. They farmed in Dodge County, moving to Clark County in 1914, where they operated a farm in the Town of Eaton until his retirement.

He is survived by three children, Clarence Schaele of Sheboygan, Edward Schaele of Brazil, Ind., and Mrs. Verna Payne of Neillsville. Other survivors are two sisters and a brother still living in Germany; five grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
