Ruhmer, Gustaf Adolph (22 MAR 1858 - 26 NOV 1930)

Below is a bit of Bio:/info if you would like to use regarding Gustav Adolph Ruhmer.

Pa & Ma, Moritz (Mintz) and Louise (nee Luckian) Ruhmer farmed about 2 miles west of Dorchester and had 17 children in all. Their sons Gustav A. & Mrs. Rosilla (nee Chase), Edwin H. and Mrs. Emma (nee Kenney) were each contributors to the early history of Dorchester.

G.A. Ruhmer built the first house on lot 22 where Wayne Walkowski lives and rents the upstairs. Gus also ran one of the first insurance agencies in Dorchester and competed directly with Ed H Winchester and his agency.

Edwin H. Ruhmer owned the National Lumber & Cedar Company for 2 years, was the General Manager of the Ole Paulson Sawmill, built a planing mill in Stetsonville, and built a home on Lot 7 in Dorchester for his family that was later sold to the local dentist, Dr. & Mrs. A. W. Schief; and which is owned today by Dennis & Julie Bach.
