Bitter, Pearl (7 JUL 1898 - 16 DEC 1963)

Mrs. Harvey Bitter of Abbotsford died unexpectedly of a heart attack at 1:15 Monday morning, Dec. 16, 1963. Mrs. Bitter went to Minneapolis Sunday to be with Mr. Bitter, who was scheduled for surgery Monday morning at the Veterans Hospital, and was staying with Mr. and Mrs. Richard Sliter when she suffered a fatal heart attack.

The body lay in state at the Polnaszek funeral home where a rosary service was held Wednesday evening. A mass of requiem was conducted at St. Bernard's Catholic Church, and burial was made in the Abbotsford Cemetery.

Mrs. Bitter, the former Pearl Santo, was born July 7, 1898 at Fairchild, and she was educated there. She lived in South Dakota a few years and in 1921 made her home in Laona. She and Harvey bitter were married Dec. 7, 1922 at Iron Mountain, Mich., and they lived at Laona for nine years and then came to Abbotsford, where they have live since that time.

Mrs. bitter was an honorary member of St. Bernard's Altar Society and a charter member of the Auxiliary to the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Knaack-Thompson Post No. 865 of Abbotsford.

Surviving are her husband and one daughter, Mrs. James (Rosemary) Beyerl of Colby,a nd five grandchildren.

She is also survived by twins sisters, Miss Carrie Santo of Fairchild and Miss Clara Santo of Appleton, and one brother, Charles Santo of Appleton.
