Edblom, Carol R. (1 Feb 1964)

Miss Carol Rae Edblom, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Arlyn Edblom, and Allen Hugh Duvall, son of Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Duvall, were united in marriage Saturday, Feb. 1, 1964, in the Trinity Lutheran Church, Unity.

Rev. Robert Langseth officiated at the 1:30 p.m. double ring ceremony. Maldon Plank, Marshfield, was the organist and Mrs. Howard Rannow, Colby, sang "The Lord's Prayer" and "Wedding Prayer."

Pink gladiolas and yellow pompons decorated the church.

The bride, who was presented in marriage by her father, appeared before the altar wearing a full length gown of Chantilly lace, featuring a modified Sabrina neckline trimmed with sequins and pearls. A full length panel of lace accented the front of the skirt, which was completed with all around tiers of lace edged with sequins.

Her fingertip veil of French illusion was secured to a crown of pearls with lace insertions. The bridal bouquet was a cascade arrangement of pink roses, white pompons and streamers with rosebuds.

Mrs. Pat Suckow, Unity, was the matron of honor, and Mrs. Bernard Stuttgen, Mt. Sterling, and Mrs. Janalee Gustafson, Colby, were the bridesmaids. The bride's attendants wore ballerina length formals of sapphire blue peau de soie styled with fitted bodices and bateau necklines. The controlled skirts featured bustle backs, with bow trim and were accented with embroidered, with motifs in front.

Each aide wore a matching floral circle with pearl trim and bows and a halo veil, and they carried bouquet of blue and white carnations with satin streamers.

Lyle Duvall, Colby, was the best man, and Bernard Stuttgen, Mt. Sterling, and Jerome Fischer, Unity, were the groomsmen.

Jill Renee Schilling, Abbotsford, was the flower girl. She wore a gown of silk organza over taffeta and she carried a basket of pink carnations and white pompons. Percy Edblom, Colby, served as ring bearer.

Ervin Schilling, Abbotsford, and Allen Schmutzler, Riplinger, served as ushers for the ceremony.

The wedding reception was held from 2 to 4:30 p.m. at the Unity Memorial Hall. Music was provided by Duane Hansen and Wayne Truchinski. Dinner was served at 4:30 to 250 guests in the church dining hall, and a dance was held later in the evening at Dorchester Memorial Hall.

The bride and groom are both graduates of the Colby High School. Mrs. Duvall attended Wis. State College, Whitewater, and is currently employed in the office of the Weyerhauser Co., Marshfield. Mr. Duvall is an employee of the Packaging Corp. of America in Colby.

Following a wedding trip, the newlyweds will make their home in Colby.
