Brandner, Shelby J. (August 4, 1937 - October 2, 2008)

 

Shelby J. Brandner, 71, Medford, died Thursday, Oct. 2 at her home.

 

Funeral services were held Tuesday, Oct. 7 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Medford, with Father Gerard Willger and Deacon Joseph Stefancin officiating. Cremainal inurnment will take place at a later date in Lakeview Cemetery in Rib Lake. Pallbearers were her grandchildren, Brandon Brandner, Lindsey Musch, Lucas and Matthew Lekie, Logan Wright, Alec and Carly Waldhart, Parker Alsteens, Austin Waldhart and Jaeden Brandner.

 

The former Shelby Vlach was born August 4, 1937 in Rib Lake to Frederick and Erma Vlach.

 

She attended Rib Lake area schools and was a graduate of Rib Lake High School. After high school she worked at Allen-Bradley in Milwaukee for about five years.

 

On September 14, 1957 in Rib Lake, she married Jerry R. Brandner, who survives. They moved to the Medford area.

 

She was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church. She enjoyed watching the Packers and Brewers, flowers, dancing, country music, and always enjoyed making the holidays special.

In addition to her husband, survivors include her mother, Erma of Rib Lake; four daughters, Cheryl Wright, Cynthia (Roger) Dray and Colleen (Todd) Waldhart, all of Medford, and Susette (Bill) Alsteens of Oregon; two sons, Dave (Kris) and Todd (Marlene), both of Medford; two sisters, Janet Kane of Greendale and Diane (Gene) Zabrowski of Milwaukee; and 10 grandchildren.

 

She was preceded in death by her father; a daughter, Sharron M. Brandner on March 8, 2000; and a sister, Carol Vlach in 2001.

 

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials in her name be made to Holy Rosary Catholic School.

 

Hemer Funeral Service of Medford assisted the family with arrangements.
