Weatherford, Catherine L. (18 Dec. 1926 – 25 Feb. 2009)

MEDFORD -- Catherine L. Weatherford, 82, of Medford, a former town of Molitor resident, died Wednesday, Feb. 25, 2009, at Memorial Nursing and Rehab Center, Medford.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Medford. Burial will be in Medford Evergreen II Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until service time Monday at the church.

Hemer Funeral Home of Medford is assisting the family with arrangements.

Catherine was born Dec. 18, 1926, in Minnesota, the daughter of William and Nora Anna (O'Grady) Tompson. She was married Aug. 12, 1946, in Mount Vernon, Ind., to John M. Weatherford. He preceded her in death Feb. 3, 1977.

The family moved to the Medford area in 1968 and farmed in the town of Molitor. While farming, she was also a housewife and mother.

She is survived by her children, Susan (Brian) Goke of Jeffersonville, Ind., Elizabeth (Scott) Olson of Medford, Gennie (Greg Gaustad) Weatherford of Endeavor, Rosemary (Larry) Buehler of Medford, Annette (Duane) Smith of Medford, Nora (Bill) Talajkowski of Jeffersonville, Ind., Rodney Weatherford of Medford, Melba Weatherford of Colorado Springs, Colo., Edward (Maytay) Weatherford of Apple Valley, Calif., Paul Weatherford of Marshfield, Sydney (Aniece) Weatherford of Victorville, Calif., Frank Weatherford of Kahului Maui, Hawaii, Fred Weatherford of Richmond, Va., and Kathy Thums of Mount Vernon, Ind.

She is further survived by 30 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Patricia (Jim) Sheehan of Texas, Geraldine Hoens of Evansville, Ind., and Lorraine Files of Cincinnati, Ohio.
