Sandsnes, Arden "Sandy" T. (May 21, 1934 - October 12, 2010)

Arden "Sandy" T. Sandsnes, 76, Monona, died Tuesday, Oct. 12, 2010, at the family cabin in northern Wisconsin.

Arden was born May 21, 1934 in Westby, the son of Alf and Beverly Sandsnes.

Sandy attended Medford High School. He served four years in the United States Navy as a seabee. He attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He was CEO of Royal Oak Engineering, Madison, until his retirement.


Sandy was a longtime member of the Madison Sports Car Club and past president of the Midwest Council of Sports Car Clubs. He was a member of the Madison Area Surveyors Council and past president of Wisconsin Society of Professional Land Surveyors. Arden served on the Governor's Land Information Board and the Wisconsin Land Records Committee.


Arden was preceded in death by his son, Christian, and his parents. He is survived by his wife, Reeta (Smith); sons, Carl and Eric; daughter, Terri Zimmerman; daughter-in-law, Ronda Sandsnes; five grandchildren, Jeremy (Sarah), Michael (Melissa) and Donald Sandsnes, Chad Zimmerman (Jessica) and Christine (Michael) Paisant; five great-grandchildren; and many friends.


Services were held at Gunderson East Funeral Home, 5203 Monona Dr., Madison, at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 16, with Reverend Jerry Amstutz presiding.


Memorials may be made to the Wisconsin Society of Professional Land Surveyors Education Fund.
