Rumberg, Rudolph "Rudy" Leonard (October 1, 1921 - April 25, 2010)

Rudolph "Rudy" Leonard Rumberg, 88, Ogema, died Sunday, April 25 at Golden LivingCenter in Rib Lake.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, April 28 at Ogema Baptist Church, with Pastor Rodney Price officiating. Interment was at Hillside Cemetery in Ogema. Pallbearers were Jeremiah Johnson, Jason Johnson, Brandon Rumberg, Gary Rumberg, Jim Henningfeld and Gary Nelson.


Rudolph Rumberg was born October 1, 1921 in Ogema to the late Victor and Hulda (Anderson) Rumberg.

He attended Larkin Graded School and was an Ogema resident for most of his life except for having resided in Medford for two years.


On February 14, 1948 at First Lutheran Church in Ogema, he married Sylvia Lorraine Fryklund, who survives. He was a section repairman for the Soo Line Railroad for 35 years, retiring in 1985.


He was a member of Ogema Baptist Church and past member of Ogema Volunteer Fire Department. He enjoyed music, especially participating in the Ogema Trio Polka Band, playing the banjo and guitar, playing cards and visiting with family and friends.


In addition to his wife, survivors include three children, Dennis (Renae) of Brantwood, and Kenneth (Dessarae) and Lynn (Kenneth "Swede") Johnson, both of Ogema; a brother, Ray (Valeria) of Eau Claire; a sister, Verna (Richard) Doyen of Birchwood; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends.


In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Violet (Joe) Kelly.

Dallmann-Kniewel Funeral Homes of Medford and Rib Lake assisted the family with arrangements.
