Kapfhamer, Angeline "Angie" J. (Querin) (January 17, 1929 - March 7, 2011)

Angeline "Angie" J. Kapfhamer, 82, Medford, died on Monday, March 7 at her home, surrounded by her family and under hospice care. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 12 at 11 a.m. at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Medford, with Father Gerard Willger and Deacon Joseph Stefancin officiating. Cremainal inurnment will be at Holy Rosary Catholic Cemetery in Medford. Honorary pallbearers are her brothers, Verdie, Eugene, Ted, Jerry and Jim Querin.


Visitation will be held at Hemer Funeral Home in Medford on Friday, March 11 from 5 to 7 p.m., with a prayer service at 6:45 p.m., and on Saturday from 9 to 10:45 a.m.


The former Angeline Querin was born on January 17, 1929 in Medford to the late Angelo "Andrew" and Caroline L. (Kowalski) Querin. She attended Wayside School in the Town of Hammel.


On May 26, 1948 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, she married Edward "Ed" J. Kapfhamer, who preceded her in death on November 6, 2010. They owned and operated a dairy farm in the Town of Little Black until 1972. During that time she worked as a waitress at Phil and Eleanor's and the Lamp Lighter, and also worked at McCain's Clothing Store in Medford as a sales clerk.


She was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church, past member of the Medford bowling league, and volunteered at the Little Store in Medford. She enjoyed gardening, painting pictures, furniture finishing, square dancing, bowling, and playing cards, especially sheeps-head and canasta.


Survivors include four sons, Gary (Debbie), Dan (Jane) and David (Liz), all of Medford, and Thomas (William Thompson) of Minneapolis, Minn.; four daughters, Peggy (Ruth Robb) Kapfhamer of Oxford, Mich., Jeanne (Bruce) Jari and Mary (Monte) Olson, both of Medford, and Cathy (Jim Laduron) Kapfhamer of Nekoosa; five brothers, Verdie (Jan) of Kent, Wash., Eugene (Carol) of Medford, Ted of Davenport, Iowa, Jerry (Jeanne) of New Berlin, and Jim of Lytle, Texas; four sisters-in-law, Evangeline Querin of Jackson, Miss., Sandy Dahl of Medford, Irene Piller of Neenah and Florence (Ed) Sloniker of Greenwood; 11 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends.


In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Leo, Larry and Floyd.


In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to her family to be designated to Holy Rosary Church and School and Hope Hospice.
