Peterson, Alice "Punky" M. (June 11, 1931 - August 23, 2011)

Alice "Punky" M. Peterson, 80, Rib Lake, died on Tuesday, Aug. 23 at Clark County Health Care Center in Owen.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, Aug. 26 at 1 p.m. at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, with Rev. James Heffner officiating. Interment will be at Lakeview Cemetery in Rib Lake.


Visitation will be held at the church on Friday from 10 a.m until the time of the service.
Dallmann-Kniewel Funeral Homes of Medford and Rib Lake assisted the family with arrangements.


Alice Peterson was born on June 11, 1931 on the family homestead to the late Alex and Magdalene "Maggie" (Golder) Peterson. She attended Ward Graded School and lived at home most of her life.


She enjoyed cooking, flowers, fishing and craft work.


Survivors include three brothers, Pete and Arvid (Kim), both of Rib Lake, and Bob (special friend Debi Hallas) of Hatley; a sister, Carol (Arlie) Knight of Athens; a sister-in-law, Marcy Peterson of Medford; aunts and uncle, Clara Zimba of Tennessee, Emily Holcomb of Alaska and Shirley (Ardin) Wiitala of Rib Lake; nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends.


In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Edward and Richard; a sister, Ruth (Tom) Engels; and a sister-in-law, Carol Peterson.
