Konieczki, Rhody Stanley (June 19, 1935 - March 10, 2012)

Rhody Stanley Konieczki, 76, Jump River, died on Saturday, March 10 at Memorial Nursing and Rehab Center in Medford. A memorial service was held on Wednesday, March 14 at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Jump River, with Father John Long officiating. Burial was at Mt. Nebo Cemetery with military honors performed by the Jump River VFW.


Plombon Funeral Service of Gilman assisted the family.


Rhody Konieczki was born on June 19, 1935 in Stevens Point to the late Steve and Margaret (Hamm) Konieczki. He entered the military in 1954.


On November 10, 1956, he married Maryann Fabisiak, and they later divorced. After his military discharge, he worked at Consolidated Papers until his retirement in 1997 when he moved to Jump River.


He enjoyed the outdoors, deer hunting season, fishing and spending time with his grandchildren, and in his younger years, he enjoyed archery.


Survivors include five children, Ella Konieczki of Texas, Sharon (Ralph) Laska and Mark, both of Stevens Point, Christine Konieczki of McHenry, Ill., and Kim Sitero of Clear Water Beach, Fla.; seven grandchildren, Patrick Souza, Nevada Blaha, Jessie Fink, Elspeth Laska and Jackie, David and Shannon Bordon; four great-grandchildren; one step-great-grandchild; and his former wife, Maryann.


In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five siblings, Helen Klisemt, Bob Konieczki, Mary Larson, Don Kons and Jim Konieczki, and a grandson, Leon Williams.
