Ducas, James A. (11 Oct. 1961 - 22 Nov. 2008)

James A. Ducas, 47, of 10477 Hope Trail, Auburndale, died Sat. Nov. 22, 2008, at the House of the Dove, Marshfield.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wed., Nov. 26, at First Presbyterian Church, Arpin. The Rev. Cyndy Little will officiate. Family members will serve as pallbearers. He will be buried in Arpin Cemetery.

Visitations will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tues. at Buchanan Funeral Home, Pittsville, and from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Wed. at the church.

Ducas was born Oct. 11, 1961, in Ishpeming, Mich., to Gordon and Vera Ducas. He was the foster son for 34 years of Marie Smith and the late Ralph Smith. He was educated in Auburndale and Marshfield schools and was a member of Boy Scout Troop 345, Marshfield where he attained the rank of Eagle Scout. He participated in the Special Olympics, liked country western music and enjoyed dances at Advocates for adult developmentally disabled. He enjoyed living and working on the farm and at Community ReSource Program. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Arpin, and worked at the church luncheons.

He is survived by his mother, Marie Smith of Auburndale and his foster family.
