Raymond L. Peterson

Raymond L. Peterson, 79, of Black River Falls, died Saturday, November 12, 1983, at Black River Memorial Hospital.

He was born in Trempealeau County on Dec. 23, 1903 to Peter O. Peterson and Caroline Gilbertson Peterson. He was raised in Jackson County and married the former Evelyn Emerson on Nov. 8, 1931 in Black River Falls. The couple farmed in Town of Albion until 1964. After his retirement from farming, he worked at the Black River Locker Plant, and the Auto-Stop Self Service Gas Station. He was a past assessor for the Town of Albion, he served on the A. S. C. S. Board for many years, and was also a director for Federation Cooperative.

Surviving are his wife Evelyn; one son Arlan of Black River Falls; two brothers, Price and Norman of Black River Falls; one sister, Mrs. Archie (Esther) Emerson of Black River Falls; seven grandchildren; and two great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one son Alan, two brothers and two sisters.

Funeral services were Tuesday, Nov. 15 from the Little Norway Lutheran Church in rural Black River Falls. Burial was in the church cemetery.
