Peterson, Arland R. (July 9, 1932 - February 15, 2000)

Arland R. Peterson, age 67, of Black River Falls, WI., died on Tuesday, February 15, 2000 in the Black River Memorial Hospital.

Arland was born on July 9, 1932 In Black River Falls to Raymond and Evelyn (Emerson) Peterson. He was raised in the Town of Albion, and he graduated from Black River Falls High School in 1950. He attended the University at Wisconsin-Eau Claire and the University of Minnesota for two years.

He married Darlene Eddy on February 16, 1957 in the Little Norway Church. The couple were later divorced.

Arland was employed at his brother, Alan (Moose) Peterson's former Chevrolet-Oldsmobile dealership, the Holiday Service Station, and as a computer information analyst at the Day's Inn Motel.

He is survived by one son, Craig Peterson of Hayward, Wisconsin; three daughters, Cathy (James) Scholze of Humbird, Wisconsin, Michele (Steven) Koch of Black River Falls, and Barbara (Bradley) of Galesville, Wisconsin; seven grandchildren; a very special friend Elke Puffer, who he made his home with for the past twelve years; and special friends Kameree, Elizabeth and Michael Puffer.

He was preceded in death by his father and brother, Alan (Moose) Peterson.

Joint funeral services for Arland R. Peterson and his mother, Evelyn Peterson, were Saturday, February 19, 2000 at 2 p.m. from the Little Norway Lutheran Church, rural Black River Falls. Calvin Thoreson offficiated and burial was in the Church Cemetery. Relatives and friends called at Torgerson's Funeral Home on Friday from 6 until 8 p.m., and at the church on Saturday from 1 p.m. until the time of services.

Pallbearers were James Scholze, Steven Koch, Bradley Simonson, Michael Puffer, Eugene Peterson, Verland Peterson, Travis Hawley and Devere Emerson.
