Pearson, Beverley A. (6 October 1925 – 25 December 2008)

Beverley A. Pearson, 83, of Black River Falls died Thursday, Dec. 25, 2008, in the Black River Memorial Hospital while under the care of Black River Hospice.

Bev was born in Cleveland, OH, Oct. 6, 1925, to Vernon H. and Edna M. (Johnson) Hansen. She was raised in various communities, including Black River Falls where she attended school and graduated in 1943, she moved to Milwaukee and worked for the phone company until 1959.

She married Jack P. Pearson Feb. 19, 1950, in Black River Falls. The couple owned and operated the Hideaway Inn from 1959 until 1980.

Bev worked in the admissions department at Black River Memorial Hospital from January 1968 until September of 2000.

She loved to knit, and she did a lot of knitting for the Evangelical Lutheran Church. She also loved to bowl.

Surviving are her son, J. Scott (Mary) Pearson, Avoca, IA; two daughters, Jill (Mark) Clark and Jann (Calvin) Larson, both of Black River Falls; six grandchildren, Travis Hutchens, Tracy Thundercloud, Don Clark, Erin Clark, Michelle Datus and Rebecca Young-Freeman; and nine great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jack, Nov. 9, 1976; and her daughter, JoDee.

A Prayer Service for Beverley A. Pearson was held at 3 p.m. Sunday Dec. 28, 2008, at Torgerson’s Funeral Home (715-284-4321), Black River Falls. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery, Black River Falls. Relatives and friends called at Torgerson’s Funeral Home Sunday from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m.

The family prefers memorials be given to either the Black River Memorial Hospital or to the Black River Falls Fire Department-Emergency Medical Services.

Honorary pallbearers were Travis Hutchens, Don and Mark Clark, Calvin Larson, Gary Gilbertson, Richard Lindow and Devin Datus.
