Wiggen, Bernie C. (20 Feb. 1896 – 8 Apr. 1984)

Berine C. Wiggen, age 88, Black River Falls, died Sunday, April 8, 1984, at Black River Memorial Hospital, Black River Falls. He was born February 20, 1896, in the township of Albion, Jackson County, to John P. and Julia (Peterson) Wiggen. He graduated from high school in 1915. He served as Albion Town treasurer for many years and as Town clerk for one year. He worked as a track welder for three years on Milwaukee Road Railroad. He also combined and farmed until his retirement in 1965. He never married. He was a fifty year member of Miles Hagen American Legion Post 200. He served in the Army in 1918. He moved to the Family Heritage Nursing Home, Black River Falls, October 10, 1978.

His only survivors are his cousins. He was preceded in death by three brothers, John, Myron and Eman.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, April 11, 1984, at Little Norway Lutheran Church. Pastor Paul Reiff officiated. Burial was in Little Norway Cemetery.

Torgenson's Funeral Service of Black River Falls was in charge of arrangements.
