Staszak, Agnes M. (Marriage – 27 June 1959)

 

Miss Agnes M. Staszak of 615 N. 14th Street Milwaukee, formerly of Black River Falls, became the bride of Mr. Lawrence Schanen of 523 Chestnut Street, Port Washington in a double ring ceremony performed by the Rev. A. J. Theucks at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Black River Falls at 2:30 p.m. on June 27, 1959.  He is the son of Mrs. Elizabeth Schanen.

 

Mr. John Staszak, a brother of the bride gave her in marriage.   For the ceremony the bride chose a chapel length gown of white lace and tulle fashioned with a Sabrina neckline of sequins and pearls, lace bodice, a Basque waistline, long sleeves, a skirt of lace and tulle ruffles with front lace panels and it had a slight train.  She had a white orchid with white streamers on her white Bible.  Her waist length veil of silk illusion was decorated with pearls and sequins and fell from a jeweled crown.

 

Mrs. John Staszak of Merrillan and Mrs. Louis Kubacki of Milwaukee, were the bridal attendants. Their ballerina length gowns were of turquoise silk organza with draped cowl necklines featuring cap sleeves. Their silk organza headpieces had crowns trimmed with seed pearls and each had matching circular veils. The flowers were bouquets of American Beauty roses.

 

Linda Bloczynski, the four year old niece of the bride acted as the flower girl.

 

Mr. John Staszak served as the best man and Mr. Louis Kubacki of Milwaukee was the groomsman.  Mr. Leo Bloczynski of Black River Falls, a brother-in-law of the bride and his brother, Edward who is presently home on leave from the United States Army ushered.

 

A dinner for relatives and out of town guests was served in the church dining room at 5 p.m. followed by a reception at the Bohemian Lodge Hall.  125 guests attended the reception.

 

Mrs. Mary Dalby made the beautiful wedding cake.

 

The brides going away ensemble featured a blue print silk dress and white accessories.  Following two weeks in Canada, Mr. and Mrs. Schanen will be at home after July 12, at 525 West Chestnut Street in Port Washington.

 

She is a graduate of Black River Falls High School and later she attended the La Crosse Vocational School for a year.  Her present position is with the Corps of Engineers, U. S. Army in the Post Office Building in Milwaukee. 

 

The groom, an Air Force Veteran from World War Two is a graduate of the Port Washington High School and he holds a position with the Kwik-Mix Company of Port Washington.

 

Girls who were employed with the bride honored her with a shower at the Milwaukee Athletic Club.

 

Guests came from Port Washington, Chicago, Racine, Milwaukee, Madison, Wisconsin Dells, Sparta, St. Paul and Cedar Rapids to attend the wedding.
