Amundson, Karen Kay (7 December 1950 – 26 December 2009)

 

Karen Kay Amundson, 59, of Blair died Saturday, Dec. 26, 2009, in the Grand View Care Center in Blair.

 

Karen was born Dec. 7, 1950, in Black River Falls to Gerald and Darlene (Miller) Dobson.  She married Raymond Amundson.

 

Karen was employed as a nurse’s aide at the Family Heritage Nursing home in Black River Falls and also drove bus for Head Start.  Karen enjoyed her family, fishing and camping. She was a great mom, loved her little kids with Head Start and had a wonderful sense of humor.

 

Karen is survived by her mother, Darlene Dobson of Blair; her husband, Raymond; four sons: Jerry (friend, Jill Knapp) Amundson of Trempealeau, John (Sheena) Amundson of Whitehall, Larry (friend, Jennifer Breheim) Amundson and Charles (Rachel) Amundson, both of Arcadia; 11 grandchildren, two sisters, Cathy Breining of Hixton and Jane (Ronald) Risberg of Blair; three brothers, Raymond (Deb) Dobson of Sayner, Lyle (Charlene) Dobson of Black River Falls and Brian (friend, Jan Vranish) Dobson of Taylor.

 

In addition to her father, Karen was preceded in death by an infant sister.

 

Funeral services were held Tuesday, Dec. 29, 2009, at 7 p.m. in the Jack Funeral Home in Blair with Pastor Terry Lorenz officiating.  Burial will be in the Riverside Cemetery in Black River Falls at a later date.

 

Visitation was held Tuesday, Dec. 29, 2009 from 5 p.m. until the time of service.

 

The Jack Funeral Home in Blair assisted the family with arrangements.
