She and her husband farmed north of Greenwood for 30 years. Her many interests included crocheting, quilting and gardening, which especially included her perennial flowers and raspberries. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren brought tremendous enjoyment to her life.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph, on Nov. 24, 1982; her parents; two sisters, Cecelia Bertz and Catherine Hefner; two brothers, Hubert Schmitz and Otto Schmitz; and her daughter-in-law, Jane Herr, on Sept. 21, 2012.

The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the caring staff of Stoney River, Ministry Home Hospice and the Palliative Care unit at Ministry Saint Joseph’s Hospital, and to Fr. Follmar and Fr. Berns for their support and prayers.
