Ed Lietzow (1884 - 30 Jul 1952)

Ed Lietzow, 68, a long-time resident of this community, succumbed to a heart ailment at his home in the village at 6:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 30. He had suffered with the heart condition for some time, but had been about his regular duties up until the time of death, which came unexpectedly.

Funeral services will be held from the Salem Evangelical United Brethren church here at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 2. The Rev. Harold Welch will officiate at the last rites, and burial will be in the Dorchester Memorial cemetery.

Mr. Lietzow, who had farmed in the Town of Mayville for many years, moved to the village about three years ago with his wife, who survives him. They purchased the former John Schmitt residence, and had made their home there. Also surviving is a son, Clive, Town of Mayville, and one grandson.
