Henry Mattick, 71, of route 1, Colby, died Thursday, April 9, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph’s hospital, Marshfield, where he was a patient for two weeks.

Mr. Mattick, who was born Oct. 3, 1892 at Abbotsford, lived all his life in this area.  He and his only surviving brother, Avealt Mattick, farmed one mile south and then west of Abbotsford.

He was a Veteran of World War I and was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Knaack-Thompson Post No. 865 of Abbotsford.

He was preceded in death by three brothers.

Funeral services were conducted Saturday afternoon at 2:30 at the Polnaszek Funeral Home at Abbotsford with the Rev. Charles Glidden of the First Presbyterian church officiating.  Burial was made in the Colby Memorial cemetery where military rites were conducted by the VFW No. 864 and members of the Post also served as pallbearers.
