Lukes, Ann Louise (Marriage - 14 September 1968)

Married Saturday in a 2 p.m. nuptial ceremony in the Portland Avenue United Methodist Church in Minneapolis, Minn., by the Rev. Ralph Shoemaker, were Miss Ann Louise Lukes of Minneapolis, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Lukes of Neillsville, and Gary Allen Thacher of Minneapolis, son of Mr. and Mrs. Roland Thacher of Preston, Minn. Mr. Lukes gave his daughter in marriage during a ceremony for which Mrs. Ralph Shoemaker was the organist and Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Dalager sang.

The bride was attired in a white silk satin floor-length gown that featured an A-line skirt. The bodice and sleeves were enhanced with Chantilly lace. Cascading from the back of the gown was a detachable chapel-length train of satin, edged with Chantilly lace. A silk fingertip veil was attached to a tiara of re-embroidered Alencon lace, trimmed with seed pearls and featuring the forward look. Her flowers were white roses, entwined with ivy.

Bridal aides were Mrs. Wayne Short of Collinsville, Ill., matron-of-honor, and Miss Wendy Schield of Milwaukee, bridesmaid. They wore floor-length skimmers of willow green Sata peau, with ecru lace adorning their standup collars and elbow-length sleeves. Their skirts were enhanced in the back by a panel. Harmonizing bouffant veils were secured to French bows. Each carried a bouquet of bronze and yellow pompons.

Rick Thacher, brother of the groom, was bestman; while David Gabbert, a friend, was groomsman. Ushers were Tom Lukes of Neillsville, brother of the bride, and Dennis Thacher, brother of the groom.

A buffet luncheon was held in the church parlors.

The bride, a 1966 graduate of Neillsville High School is employed by the Baniff International airway at Wold-Chamberlain Field, Minneapolis. Mr. Thacher is a graduate of Preston High School and has served for four years in the Army air force. He, too, is employed at Wold-Chamberlain Field.

On their return from a wedding trip, Mr. and Mrs. Thacher will reside at 7000 Cedar Ave., Apt. #304, Richfield, Minn.
