Davis, Essie (22 June 1890 - 2 October 1968)

Funeral services were held Friday afternoon from the Georgas Funeral Home for Mrs. Leland (Essie) Davis, 78, of Memorial Home, who died October 2. The Rev. William Dushek of the Neillsville and Granton United Methodist churches officiated. Burial was made in Windfall Cemetery, Granton.

Mrs. Davis, the former Essie Hart, was born June 22, 1890, in Couburn, Canada. She attended the public School in Granton. On March 9, 1907, she was married in Osseo to Leland Davis. They lived in Granton for several years, later moving to Neillsville.

She is survived by her husband; three daughters, Mrs. Theodore (Minerva) Viergutz of Neillsville, Mrs. Herbert (Hazel) Stevens of Bruce and Mrs. Henry (Elizabeth) Gullickson of White Bear lake, Minn. Seven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and a sister, Mrs. Ethel Chapel of Marshfield, also survive.

Pallbearers were: Oscar Gluck, George Frei, John Gloff, Gary Gullickson, Herbert Stevens and Robert Chapel. Organist was Mrs. Jess W. Scott.

People from out of town here for the funeral were: Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Stevens and family of Bruce; Mr. and Mrs. Henry Gullickson and family of White Bear Lake, Minn.; Mrs. Ethel Chapel, Mrs. Clifford Garten and Robert Chapel of Marshfield.
