Kilty, Donald E. (10 JUL 1920 - 14 MAR 2013)

Donald E. Kilty, age 92, of Abbotsford, formerly of Unity passed away Thursday, March 14, 2013, at Golden Living Center, Abbotsford.

Private services will be held at a later date. Burial will be at the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Unity

Donald was born July 10, 1920, in Unity to William and Florence (Mattson) Kilty. He farmed in the Town of Colby until 1965, moving to the Village of Unity. Donald worked for various mobile home factories while living in Unity and the last few years he worked as a janitor for the Unity Grade School retiring in 1982. Donald was known for his hard work ethic and friendly personality. He was always willing to help others. Donald and Virginia Fleischman were joined in marriage on January 25, 1941, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Unity.

Donald is survived by his wife, Virginia; three daughters, Darlene Andre, Sharon (Don) Smart, and Sandy (John) Zassenhaus. He is further survived by 10 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; brother, Marvin (Lou) Kilty; and three sisters-in-law, Elvira Kilty, Mary Kilty, and Irma Kilty.

Donald is preceded in death by his son, Donald in 1952; grandson, Rick Kops; brothers, Melvin, Glenn, Kenny, Lyle, Bob and Vern Kilty; sisters, Lorraine Gottschalk and Myrtle Kilty; and a son-in-law, James Andre.

The Maurina Schilling Funeral Home is assisting the Kilty family with arrangements.
