Miss Barbara Jean Rayburn, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Rayburn, route 3,
Neillsville was given in marriage by her father to George Richard Rugg, Norway,
Michigan during a ceremony Saturday, January 4 at 2 p.m., at the Loyal Methodist
Church.
The Rev. Paul Doering officiated at the services. The bride’s grandfather, the
Rev. A. C. Riley offered a closing prayer. Mrs. Grant Slone was the organist and
Kathleen Slone was soloist.
Mr. Rugg is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Alsteen. Norway, Michigan.
The bride’s floor length dress was made of frosted lace over taffeta, the
scalloped neckline was highlighted with sequins. The bridal veil was attached to
a crown and the bride’s bouquet was yellow roses.
Kathleen Anne Rayburn Rayburn, sister of the bride, served as maid of honor. She
wore a yellow street length gown and carried a bouquet of yellow and white mums.
Attending the groom was his brother, Edward Alsteen, Norway, Michigan, Fred
Rayburn Jr., Evanston, Illinois and Daniel Rayburn Route 2, Neillsville were
ushers.
Following the wedding a reception was held in the church basement.
The bride, a 1962 graduate of Neillsville High School is employed at Washington
National Insurance Co. at Evanston, Illinois. The groom is with the Navy and is
presently stationed at Gret Lakes, Illinois.
They will reside at 332 Custer St. Evanston, Illinois
Guests attending the wedding came from Norway, Michigan, Evanston, Illinois;
Willmette, Illinois; Chicago, Illinois; and the following Wisconsin cities;
Lodi; Wisconsin Rapids, Willard, Loyal, and Neillsville.
