William “Bill” H. Harrison, age 80, of Faribault, Minn. and formerly of Lake Park, died on Friday, May 11, 2007 at District One Hospital, Faribault.

William H. Harrison was born on October 23, 1926 in Eau Claire, to George W. and Clara (Hultman) Harrison. He graduated from Chippewa Falls High School and the University of Wisconsin - Madison, School of Agriculture. He married Ethel C. Schmidt on June 5, 1948 at Fond du Lac. Bill was employed as a truck driver for Janesville Auto Transport Co. for 36 years and by Dallas Transport Co. for four years, driving over four million miles! He also owned and operated Bill’s Gun Shop, a gun and sports shop, which coincided with his lifetime passion for fishing, hunting and the outdoors. Bill was a Third Degree member of the Knights of Columbus and a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Ethel; five children, Michael (and Lise) Harrison of Whitehall, Mont., Deana (and Wallace) Rice of Woodbury, Douglas (and Gail) Harrison of New Hope, Elizabeth (and Marc) Atherton of Maplewood and Annie (and Garry) Gehrke of Jordan; nine grandchildren; one great-grandchild, Kara; two sisters, Lois (and Greg) Lange of Fond du Lac, and Doris Erdmann of Pickerel, Wis.; and nieces, nephews and other relatives. He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Mary Ann Harrison; his parents, George and Clara Harrison (Nedland); an infant sister, Dorothy; and a brother, Robert.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, May 15, at 10 a.m. at Divine Mercy Catholic Church at Sacred Heart, Faribault, with the Reverend Thomas Joseph officiating. Interment will be at Most Precious Blood Catholic Cemetery, Glidden, at 11 a.m. Wednesday.

Visitation will be at the church on Tuesday for one hour prior to the service. The rosary was recited at 7:30 p.m. on Monday in the funeral home.
