EAU CLAIRE – Services for Basil (Bud) Welch, 78, Eau Claire, who died Tuesday morning at the Eau Claire Center of Care, will be at noon Friday at St. James Catholic Church, Eau Claire.

The Rev. James Hagmann will officiate. Burial will be in Lake View Cemetery, Eau Claire.

Visitation will be at Golden Gate Funeral Home, Eau Claire, from 5-8 p.m. Thursday.

He was born Feb. 4, 1911, in Wisconsin Rapids, to James and Catherine Welch. He married Dorothy Sigel Sept. 4, 1939, in Dubuque, Iowa.

He had lived and worked in Marshfield before his marriage.

He is survived by his wife; two daughters, Judith Oien of Woodbury, Minn., and Patricia Hallquist of Eau Claire; one son, James F. of Marshfield; one sister, Helen Wilcott of Marshfield; and seven grandchildren.
