Ewer, Forrest (17 May 1938 - 8 June 2007)

Forrest Ewer, 69, of Kenosha, passed away Friday, June 8, 2007 at his home, surrounded by his loved ones.

Born May 17, 1938, in Chippewa Falls, he was the son of the late Lawrence and Mary (Abbott) Ewer. He attended schools in Ashland. He later moved to Kenosha, where he had been a resident for over 46 years.

He served as a member of the United States Air Force. He was honorably discharged. On Dec. 11, 1956 he married Dorothy Lundquist at Saron Lutheran Church in Ashland. He was employed as a machinist at Eaton Corporation in Kenosha for 20 years, followed by 17 years at Signode, in Illinois, retiring in 1999.

He was a member of the Kenosha Moose Lodge. He really enjoyed being retired. He liked to do things around the house: cooking, taking care of the yard, feeding the birds and planting flowers. His hobbies included playing poker and cribbage on the Internet, going to casinos and fishing in his younger years. He was a huge Packer fan.

Surviving are his loving wife of 50 years, Dorothy; his four children: Lynn Anderson of Kenosha, Sharon (Bruce) Kellogg of Racine, Ericka (Mark) Bernhardt of Kenosha, Janet (Todd) Pickos of Kenosha; one sister, Shirley (Eddie) Huusko of Cornucopia; two brothers, Ken (Mavis) Ewer of Washburn, and Lawrence (Barbara) Ewer of Cecil, Ala.; 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, Forrest E. Ewer Jr.; and a granddaughter, Amanda Lea Ewer-Pickos.

Funeral services were held on Wed., June 13 at Proko Funeral Home at 10 a.m. Entombment followed at Sunset Ridge Memorial Park with full military honors. Visitation was held on Tuesday, June 12, at Proko Funeral Home.
