Van Natta, Ronald C. (2 Dec. 1915 - 4 July 2000)

Ronald C. Van Natta, 84, of 330 Frenette Dr. #2, Chippewa Falls, died Tuesday, July 4, 2000, at St. Joseph\'s Hospital, Chippewa Falls.

He was born Dec. 2, 1915, in Elgin, Ill. to Mabel N. (Cline) and Raymond L. Van Natta. He was raised in Elgin and graduated from Elgin High School in 1937.

Ronald married Mary Jane Head on Sept. 20, 1940, in Elgin. He served in the U.S. Navy in the Pacific Theatre from 1944-1945. He was then employed at the Elgin Water Department for 34 years, retiring as Superintendent in May, 1980. He and his wife moved to Chippewa Falls in October, 1997 to be near their daughter and her family.

He was a member of the VFW in Elgin; the American Legion in Chippewa Falls and in Elgin; the Golden K in Elgin; and the AWWA.

He is survived by his wife, Mary; two daughters, Pat (Norman) Sanders of Poplar Grove, Ill., Mary (Dennis) Brown of Chippewa Falls; one sister, M. Noreen Pearson of Hopkinton, Iowa; two bothers, Ralph Van Natta, R. John (Harriett) Van Natta, both of Riverside, Calif.; seven grandchildren, Dory (Jeff) Bartz, Paul (Jennifer) Sanders, Jay, Marcy, and David Sanders, Peggy (Jon) Mattison, Susie Brown; eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.

A funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m., Friday, July 7, at Pederson-Volker Funeral Chapel, Chippewa Falls, with Rev. Gerald W. Mann, officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery, Chippewa Falls.

Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m., Thursday and until the time of service Friday at the funeral chapel.
