Spearbecker, Martha M. (10 July 1929 - 26 Oct. 2008)

WARRENS -- Martha M. Spearbecker (Bendickson), 79, of Warrens, passed from our sight, Sunday, Oct. 26, 2008.

She was born July 10, 1929, to Fredrick and Annie (Munnik) Bendickson at home in Green Valley Township in Marathon County. She was united in marriage to Vernon Spearbecker on Feb. 22, 1947, in Marshfield. They were married for 50 years before he preceded her in death in January of 1997. They resided at Marshfield until the summer of 1966 when they moved to a farm in rural Warrens. Martha enjoyed cooking (always trying to feed everyone), reading and knitting.

She is survived by two daughters, Rebecca (Dennis) Frost of Warrens, and Nancy Trainor; three sons, Al (Connie Noll) Spearbecker of Coon Rapids, Minn., Bill (Debbie) of Chetek, Don (his fiancée Rhonda Nicpon) of Thorp; 13 grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren; a sister, Angeline Lunde of Milwaukee; other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Vernon; a daughter, Deborah Tovsland; a brother, Andrew Bendickson; two sisters, Grace Dettman and Johanna Wolfe.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, Nov. 1, 2008, 2:30 p.m., at the Warrens Baptist Church. Dennis Frost will officiate. Burial will be in the Warren-Mills Cemetery.

Relatives and friends are invited to call at the church Saturday from 1:30 p.m. until the time of the service.

The Sonnenburg Family Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.

Martha's family wishes to thank the Tomah Hospice Touch for helping at this difficult time, and the Tomah Memorial Nursing Staff for their tender care of Mom, also the many friends and family for their loving support and prayers.
