Schoenfuss, Anna B. (31 July 1915 - 14 May 2009)

Anna B. Schoenfuss, 93, Stratford, died Thursday, May 14, 2009, at Saint Joseph's Palliative Care, Marshfield, with her family by her side.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, May 18, 2009, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Stratford. The Rev. Thomas Rudolph will officiate, and music will be provided by St. Joseph's Resurrection Choir. Burial will take place in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Halder, and serving as pallbearers will be grandchildren Ann Willhite, Keith Wagner, Mark Schoenfuss, Greg Schoenfuss, Scott Bornbach, Craig Leonhardt, Chad Schoenfuss and Mike Schoenfuss, and honorary pallbearers will be grandchildren Randy Hornick, Eugene Schoenfuss, Dale Imhoff, Ruth Jozwiak, Robert Schoenfuss, David Hebert and Doug Schoenfuss. The visitation will be held Sunday from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Sauter/Rembs Funeral Home, Stratford, and Monday from 9:30 a.m. until service time at St. Joseph's Catholic Church. A St. Joseph's Parish Council of Catholic Women Rosary Service will be held Sunday at 4:30 p.m. followed by a St. Joseph's Parish Prayer Service at 7 p.m., both at the funeral home.

Mrs. Schoenfuss was born July 31, 1915, in the town of Emmet, Marathon County, the daughter of Jacob and Emma (Fochs) King. She married Joseph W. Schoenfuss on May 9, 1938, at St. John's Catholic Church in Edgar. He died Oct. 17, 1995. Anna and Joseph farmed until 1986, when they moved to Stratford. She enjoyed playing cards, sewing, quilt-making, embroidery, gardening and making huge raised doughnuts for her family. She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, the Parish Council of Catholic Women, the Women's Catholic Order of Foresters, and the Cleveland Homemakers Club.

She is survived by her children, James Schoenfuss of Edgar, Carol (Myron) Knetter of Edgar, Marilyn (Richard) Leonard of Stratford, Genevieve (Eugene) Bornbach of Stratford, Roman (Barbara) Schoenfuss of Stratford, Mary (Melvin) Wagner of Baraboo, Bernadine (Marvin) Pupp of Edgar, Elaine (Andrew) Hornick of Marshfield, and Frank (Jean) Schoenfuss of Abbotsford. She is also survived by daughters-in-law, Sandy Schoenfuss of Stratford, Nancy Schoenfuss of Stratford, Mary Ann Schoenfuss of Union Grove, Alma Schoenfuss of Stratford, and Joey Imhoff of Wausau. She is further survived by 50 grandchildren, 72 great-grandchildren, nine great-great-grandchildren, nine stepgreat-grandchildren, and two stepgreat-great-grandchildren and four brothers, Aloysius King, Alfred (Josephine) King, Arnold (JoAnn) King and Mark (JoAnn) King. She was predeceased by her parents, her husband, seven sons, Jacob, Thomas, Richard, Jerome, Elroy, Howard and J. LaVerne Schoenfuss, two daughters, Marcella Hebert and Eileen Imhoff, a son-in-law, Richard Hebert, daughters-in-law, Gertrude and Mary Schoenfuss, four sisters, three brothers and two granddaughters.

The family wishes to give special thanks to Kenny Leick for all the special things he did for Anna. Also thanks to the Palliative Care nurses, doctors, and aides and the music therapist for all the special care they gave her.
