The Emilie Henrietta Wucherpfenning Biography

 

Emilie Henrietta Wucherpfenning was born on 18 February 1883 in St. Paul, MN. She was the daughter of Ferdinand Ignatz Wucherpfenning and Frederick Augusta Elisabeth/Elisabeth (Rocke) Wucherpfenning. She married William/Willie Thomas Roghers on 16 October 1902 in Marathon Co., WI.

 

He was the son of John & Sidney Medvina (Coleman) Rogers. When his mother died he was adopted by a family named Sunnenstine. When he reached adulthood he took his birth name Rogers back but having lived in a German community he spelled it Rodgers.

 

William was born on 15 October 1875 in Vernon, WI., *1876 in WI**/in 1883 MN.***

William died on 12 November 1963 in Boscobel, WI. Emilie died on 10 June 1954 in Richland Center, WI. They are both buried at Boscobel, WI.

William & Emilie had the following children:  Sidney Frances Elizabeth; Hilbert Ferdinand William; Emilia Irena Helena; and living Rodgers.

 

1. Sidney Frances Elizabeth Roghers was born on 7 July 1904 in Frankfort Township, Marathon Co., WI. She married Erick Hanson on 16 October 1928 in Breckenridge, MN. Erick was born on 4 February 1899 in Oslo, Norway and he was the son of Erik Bergstrom & Emma Hagberg. Erick died on 28 January 1982 in Boscobel, WI. from complications of the flu. Sidney died on 19 December 1986 in Boscobel, WI. Both are buried in Boscobel, WI. Sidney and Erick had the following children:

 

a. Amelia Emma Hanson born 18 July 1929 in Sauk Co. WI. She married Richard Heal on 9 June 1958 in South Beloit, Illinois.

 

Richard was born on 5 November 1923 in Crawford Co., WI. He was the son of Charles Vernon Heal  born 29 February 1888 in Crawford Co., WI and Cora Bell Brockway born May 1890 in Wonewoc, Juneau Co., WI.

 

Amelia & Richard have two living children.

b.  Fredrick William Hanson was born on 10 June 1931 in Sauk Co., WI. and died on 29 November 1983 in La Crosse, WI. of an apparent heart attack.

2. Hilbert Ferdinand William Roghers was born on 18 August in Marathon Co., WI. He married Irene M. Miller on 2 December 1933. Hilbert died on 5 February 1984 in Boscobel, WI. Irene was born on 21 January 1912 in Crawford Co., WI and she was the daughter of John D. Miller, born 1874 & Alma Pullen, born 1886. Irene died on 18 July 1992 in Madison, WI. Both are buried in Boscobel, WI. Hilbert & Irene have seven living children.

3. Emilia Irena Helena Roghers was born on 19 September 1917 in Marathon Co., WI. She married Raymond Cooper on 23 June 1946. He was born on 13 June 1917 in Cataract, Monroe Co., WI. Emilia and Raymond were later divorced. Two living children were born of this marriage. Emilia was also briefly married to Chester Norton, no children from this marriage.

·         Emilia was born on the farm in Marathon Co., WI. As a young child she moved first with her family to Owen, WI. and then in 1920 to a farm in rural Crawford Co.,WI. near Gays Mills. The farm was located on High Ridge among the apple orchards that region is noted for. Emilia worked at several jobs, among them, sorting tobacco at the warehouse in Gays Mills. As a single mother she had a hard time supporting her family. They lived in Westby briefly and later in Madison where they lived with her sister, Delphine. Emilia died on 3 June 1993 of breast cancer. She has two living children.
