Blazer, Florence (9 AUG 1914 - 17 APR 2013)

Florence Blazer, age 98, of Owen, died Wednesday, April 17, 2013. Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM Monday April 22, 2013 at St. John's Lutheran Church, Withee. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery, Withee. Rev. Tom Myhre will officiate. Visitation will be from 9:00 AM until time of service at the church in Withee. Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home is assisting the family.

Florence was born August 9, 1914 in Thorp, WI to Carl and Esther (Lewin) Buss. Florence and Howard Blazer were married May 8, 1934 in Thorp. He preceded her in death August 20, 1984. They operated various farms in the area and she worked and retired in 1980 from the Master Package Corp, Owen, WI. She resided in Owen until 2011 when she entered Colby Retirement Community.

She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church and belonged and worked with many groups at the church. Florence had many hobbies and enjoyed playing cards with friends.

Florence is survived by her children: Janice (Ray) Hafemeister, David (Pat) Blazer, and Carole (Ken) Carlsen; and six grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, Gerald Buss of Madison, cousins, nieces, and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard and her grandson, Robert Hafemeister.

Memorial may be given to St. John's Lutheran Church, Withee.
