Hoops-Below

In a double ring ceremony performed by Rev. Randolph Mueller at Trinity Lutheran Church Saturday afternoon, Miss June A. Below, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Martin Below, Spencer route 2, became the bride of Lloyd C. Hoops, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ervin Hoops, also of Spencer route 2. The wedding took place at 2 o’clock.

Miss Margie Kuethe was the organist and Miss Carol Fravert sang “The Lord’s Prayer” and “I Here At The Altar Stand.”

The bride, given in marriage by her father, was attired in a white satin gown with a lace edged sheer yoke, fitted bodice, lace peplum and lace on front of the full gathered skirt ending in a long train of scalloped Chantilly lace scattered with rhinestones. She carried a cascade bouquet of white gladioli and red roses. Her beaded headdress of rhinestones and pearls was edged with scalloped Chantilly lace and she wore a gold cross chain, a gift of the groom.

Mrs. James Hoops, Milwaukee, a sister-in-law of the groom, was maid of honor and Miss Isabell Fenhouse, Spencer and Miss Ruth Kastning of Woodstock, Ill., were bridesmaids. The brides attendants were similarly attired in taffeta gowns with full gathered skirts and net yokes. Their headdresses were of yellow gladioli and they carried cascade bouquets of yellow gladioli. They also wore strings of pearls.

Mr. James Hoops, Milwaukee, brother of the groom was best man and Arnold Below, Woodstock, Ill., and Lawrence Below, Spencer, brothers of the bride, were groomsmen and Elmer Hoops and Willie Ertl acted as ushers.

Following the ceremony a reception was held at the home of the bride’s parents. The home was decorated with cut flowers, crepe paper and white wedding bells.

A wedding dinner was served that evening at the church basement for about 150 guests. The tables were beautifully decorated with cut flowers and crepe paper.

After a wedding trip to northern Wisconsin, the young couple will reside on the Ervin Hoops farm where they groom is engaged in farming. Mrs. Hoops has been employed at the Weinbrenner Show factory at Marshfield.

Both young people are graduates of Spencer High School, Mr. Hoops with the class of 1945 and Mrs. Hoops with the class of 1946.

Guests from Spencer, Sheldon, Milwaukee, Chicago, Chili, Marshfield, Woodstock, Ill., Unity, Dancy and Mosinee were here for the wedding.

The Record joins their many local friends in extending congratulations and best wishes for a long and happy wedded life.
