Matson, Sharon (11 JUL 1964)

Miss Sharon Matson of Unity became the bride of Kenneth Laube of Colby Saturday, July 11, 1964, at the United Church of Christ, Colby. Two bouquets of white gladioli adorned the altar before which the daughter of Albert Matson of Unity and the late Mrs. Audrey Matson, and the son of Mr. and Mrs. Karl Laube of Colby, repeated their vows. The Rev. Carl Serr officiated at the 1:30 o'clock ceremony, during which Marvin Schnabel sang "The Wedding Prayer" and "O Perfect Love," and Mrs. Robert Winkler was the organist.

Attending the couple were Mrs. Glenn Herrmann of Colby and Duane Riedel of Marshfield. Miss Janet Laube and Harvey Matson, sister and brother, respectively, of the bridal couple, completed the wedding party.

For her wedding the bride chose a floor length gown of Chantilly lace over taffeta with a fitted bodice and Sabrina neckline trimmed with sequins and pearls. The controlled skirt was designed with unpressed pleats with scalloped lace edging at the hemline. At the back there was a detachable lace train. The French illusion fingertip veil was secured to a crown of pearl and crystal. A large lavender orchid centered the cascade bouquet of white carnations.

Cascade bouquets of matching and white carnations and pompons were carried by the bride's attendants, who were dressed alike in floor length frocks of white lace over orchid taffeta. The bodices featured bateau necklines and the bustle backs of the controlled skirts were accented by orchid sashes with a bow. Their ensembles were completed with headpieces of floral circlet with pearl trim and pouf veil.

After the ceremony, a reception and 4 o'clock supper were held at the Colby Hotel.

On their return from a honeymoon trip to a northern Minnesota resort, Mr. and Mrs. Laube will make their home at Colby where the groom is the proprietor of the Colby Locker Plant and his bride is employed at the Colby Clinic.
