Hammerle, Sandra Jean (Marriage - 16 August 1969)

Miss Sandra Jean Hammerle, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Victor Seehafer of Rt. 1 Chili and Lawrence Laverne Schumacher, son of Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Schumacher of Rt. 1 Granton, exchanged wedding vows Saturday at 2 p.m. in the Zion Lutheran Church in Granton. The Rev. Roland Roehrs officiated at the double-ring ceremony.

The bride, given in marriage by her father, chose a white floor-length gown of chiffon over organza, in full empress style, trimmed with Chantilly lace. Her rose petalled, full, fingertip veil was trimmed with pearls. She carried a single, long-stemmed red rose.

Diane Drollinger of Oconomowoc was maid-of-honor. Mrs. Valerie Laurin and Mrs. Lynn Schumacher, both of Two Rivers served as bridesmaids. Their empress-styled gowns were of moss green satin, with white lace trim over the bodice and down the back of the train. Each carried a single stemmed, yellow rose.

Susan Ure was miniature bride and Tony Schumacher was ringbearer. Edwin Schumacher of Two Rivers was bestman. Groomsmen were Darrel Seehafer of Hawaii and John Laurin of Two Rivers. Ushering duties were performed by Leonard Thiede and Billy Dahlke, both of Granton.

Mrs. Leland Garbisch provided organ music throughout the ceremony.

A reception and dinner for 265 guests were held in the church basement, with punch served by Rhonda and Lori Fischer of Marshfield. The bride’s mother baked and decorated an unusual wedding cake. A later reception was held at the home of the bride’s parents. A wedding dance was given Saturday evening at the Silver Dome Ballroom, west of Neillsville.

Mrs. Schumacher, a graduate of Marshfield Senior High School in 1964 and of an Eau Claire beautician’s school in 1965, has been employed in Marshfield. Mr. Schumacher is a 1964 graduate of Granton High School and attended the Eau Claire Vocational School in 1965, and later attended a diesel training center at Chicago, Ill. He also is employed in Marshfield.

After a wedding trip, they will reside on Rt. 1, Chili.
