Moffatt, Willard A. (28 JAN 1866 – 6 SEP 1915)

Willard A. Moffatt died at his home in Hewett on Sept. 6, 1915, after an illness of several years duration. Deceased was born at Hartford, Wis., on Jan. 28, 1866 and came to Clark County in 1868. He lived in Neillsville until 1885 when he moved to the town of Hewett with his parents and had made his home there ever since. He was united in marriage to Laura E. Wing in Oct., 1893. He was a man of good character and principals and was a kind husband and neighbor. He leaves to mourn his demise his wife, one brother, Eugene, of Hewett, and a sister, Sadie, of Nome, Alaska. Those who were here for the funeral from out of town were Mr. and Mrs. J. Cox of Alma Center, Mrs. J. Mallory or Whitehall and Mr. and Mrs. A. Wing of Waupaca.

“Thou has gone, my dear husband,
To that happy land above;
Oh, I miss you, Willard, and it seems my heart will break
How could I spare you, Willard, were it not for Jesus’ sake.”
