Bremer, Paulina (20 AUG 1877 - 3 JAN 1965)

Funeral services for Mrs. Paulina Bremer, 87, of Abbotsford, who died Sunday at 6:30 a.m. at the home of a son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Emil Neuman in Oconomowoc, were held Wednesday afternoon at Christ Lutheran Church, Abbotsford.

The body lay in state at the Polnaszek Funeral Home, Abbotsford, from Tuesday to Wednesday noon, when it was taken to the church. The Rev. F.H. Sprengler officiated at the 2 o'clock services.

The pallbearers for the interment made in Memorial Cemetery, Dorchester, were five grandsons, Jack Bremer, Clarence and Norman Fenske and Norbert and Ronald Neuman, and a great-grandson, Myron Guenterberg.

Miss Diana Schultz sang "Be Still My soul" and "The Lord is My Shepherd, I Shall not Want." Mrs. Charles Plautz was the accompanist.

Mrs. Bremer was born Paulina Schneider, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Michael Schneider, Aug. 20, 1877, in Radon, Poland. In 1893 she came to America and lived at Gillet until 1903, when they came to a farm northeast of Dorchester, now owned by Victor Fierke.

Her first marriage was to Michael Majewske, who preceded her in death. May 5, 1910, she and John Bremer were united in marriage at Dorchester.

They farmed in the town of Mayville (Clark Co., Wis.) until about 20 years ago when they reitred and came to Abbotsford. After Mr. Bremer's death in 1952, Mrs. Bremer and her daughter, Elsie, continued to make their home together. Almost two years ago, Mrs. Bremer went to Oconomowoc and made her home with her son-in-law and daughter there.

Mrs. Bremer was a member of Christ Lutheran Church of Abbotsford, and a member of the Ladies' Aid of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Dorchester.

She is survived by five children: Arthur Bremer, Milwaukee, Mrs. Albert (Minnie) Fenske, Dorchester, Mrs. Emil (Anna) Neuman, Oconomowoc, Miss Elsie Bremer, and John Bremer of Abbotsford. There are 14 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Bremer was preceded in death by her brother, William Schneider, a year ago.
