Bennett, Joyce M. (2 JAN 1965)

St. John's Lutheran Church, Spencer, was the setting on Saturday, Jan. 2, 1965, for the exchange of marriage promises between Joyce Mary Bennett, Fond du Lac, and Robert Lois Hendrix, also of Fond du Lac.

Rev. M. younker of Spencer officiated at the 1:30 p.m. service. John Krueger of Spencer presided at the organ as Coral Luepke of Spencer sang "O Perfect Love" and "Wedding Song." The church was decorated with poinsettias.

Mr. and Mrs. Merton Bennett of Unity and Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Hendrix of Rincon, Ga., are the parents of the young couple.

Mrs. Katherine Willis of Fond du Lac served as matron of honor, and Rose Marie Viergutz of Milwaukee and Carol Ruppert of Colby were the bridesmaids.

The bride was attired in a floor length bridal gown featuring a scalloped Sabrina neckline on the fitted bodice, and the controlled skirt of peau de soie with sequin trimmed lace appliques inset on the front and back, having a bow and sash at the waistline and ending in alchape train. Her fingertip French illusion veil was secured to a crown of pearl and aurora borealis crepted with lace inspirations. Red and white carnations centered with a large red poinsettia made up the bridal bouquet.

Her attendants wore red street length velvet dresses with long sleeves, featuring rounded necklines with V-Shaped backs and bell-shaped skirts. They wore white velvet fur headpieces. Their flowers were a red poinsettia and holly leaves centered on white fur muffs.

A reception at the Don Colby Tavern followed the ceremony. Supper was served at the church, followed by a wedding dance at Dorchester memorial Hall. 200 guests attended the wedding day festivities.

The new Mrs. Hendrix is a 1963 graduate of Colby High School and is employed as a secretary for Spector Freight at Fond du Lac. Mr. Hendrix attended Rincon High School and is a 1955 graduate. He is employed as route man for Omar Bakeries at Fond du Lac, which will be the future home of the couple.
