Fortuna, Anthony John (17 September 1903 - 24 October 1969)

Anthony John Fortuna, 66, of Willard died of a lingering illness Friday in a Marshfield hospital, where he was admitted several weeks before. Funeral services were held Monday at 9:30 a.m. from the Hill Funeral Home in Greenwood and at 10:30 a.m. from the Holy Family Catholic Church in Willard. Rev. Michael Mertens officiated and burial was made in the parish cemetery.

Pallbearers were: Joseph Bayuk, Sr., William Bayuk, Edward Bayuk, Frank Bayuk, Albert Bayuk and Joseph Bayuk.

Mr. Fortuna was born September 17, 1903, in Rock Springs, Wyo. At the age of seven in 1910 he came to Willard with his parents, Anthony and Mary (Kersisichnek) Fortuna. He received his education in rural schools here. He was married to Dorothy Bayuk on September 27, 1932, at the Holy Family Catholic Church. They farmed in the Willard area until 1941, when they moved to Chicago, Ill., where he was employed for 16 years. He retired last year and moved to Willard. Mr. Fortuna was a member of the Holy Family Catholic Church and the Holy Family Society, K. S. K. J., No. 136.

Survivors are his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Frank (Anna) Zumer of Crawfordsville, Ind., and Mrs. William (Dorothy) Gradishar of Chicago; 10 grandchildren; two brothers, John of Trevor and Louis of Willard; and four sisters, Agnes Fortuna of Trevor, Mrs. Frances Slemec of Owen, Mrs. Mary Savage of Chicago, and Mrs. John (Anna) Fortuna of Rock Springs, Wyo.
