Heimke, Gerald E. (? - 13 JUN 2013)

Gerald Eugene Heimke, formerly of Granton, Wisconsin, passed away on June 13, 2013. Gerald was the son of Hans and Lillian Heimke. After attending Romadka School, he was employed at several farms in the area and worked in Menominee, WI, in this occupation until he retired to live near his brother, Harland in the Houghton, Michigan area.

Gerald was quite active in his retirement and was well known as a very social man with lots of friends. He would not pass up an opportunity to spring one of his many jokes on someone who just joined the conversation and always enjoyed a healthy laugh. He spent many hours using his tinkering skills to rejuvenate old electronic equipment and was always proud to show off what he had recently fixed.

Gerald was preceded in death by his father, Hans, his mother, Lillian, and his brother, Harland. He is survived by his sister, Lil Filegar, sister-in-law, Kathy Heimke, several cousins, one nephew and four nieces.

A graveside memorial service will be held at the Zion American Lutheran Church cemetery in Granton, WI. on July 2nd at 2 p.m.

The Pearce Funeral Home in Lake Linden, MI, is assisting with arrangements. Online condolences may be left at www.pearcefuneralhome.com
