Kavanagh, Judith Maureen (Marriage - 13 December 1969)

Marriage vows were solemnized in Argentia, Newfoundland, at 12 noon December 13, by Judith Maureen Kavanagh, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Kavanagh of Ferryland, Newfoundland, Canada, and David Eugene Hause, AO3, son of Mrs. Viola Hause and the late Louis Hause, of Rt. 2 Neillsville. The double-ring ceremony was performed by Father Whit at the U. S. Naval Chapel which was decorated with white roses.

The bride, given in marriage by her uncle, Arch Williams, was attired in a floor-length gown of white satin that featured a floor-length, long sleeved redingote of Irish lace with train to match. The fingertip veil was secured to a cluster of white wedding bells. She carried an arrangement of red and white baby roses and lilies-of-the-valley.

Serving her sister as maid-of-honor was Sheila Kavanagh, who wore a floor length formal of blue chiffon and carried a bouquet of blue and white carnations.

James Mannering, CS2 was bestman. Ushers were Richard Strong, AO1, of Corpus Christie, Tex., and John Hamilton, AO2, of La Crosse.

Miss Gloria Greene provided organ music.

Seventy-five guests attended the wedding and the reception that followed at the Harbour Lights Club in Argentia. Arrangements of pink roses accented the navy blue and gold covered tables.

The bride is a graduate of a teacher’s college in Newfoundland and is employed as a teacher in Freshwater. The groom, a 1967 graduate of Neillsville High School, is a member of the United States Navy.

After a wedding trip to southern Newfoundland, they returned to their home in Freshwater.
