E.F. Wollenberg attended a bankers meeting at Marshfield last week.

John Huntzicker was at Marshfield Wednesday of last week to attend a banker's meeting.

Dr. W.R. Kennedy of Milwaukee, will be in Greenwood Feb. 18th, at Dr. F.H. Kennedy's office for one day only. Practice limited to eye, ear, nose and throat. (Advertisement)

The Thursday Club will meet with Mrs. Chas. Varney Thursday, Feb. 20.

C.C. Hoehne was at Milwaukee last week attending a meeting of the Wis. Hardware Dealers Association.

Alex and Oscar Beyer returned home from Milwaukee on Saturday for a few days visit with home folks.

John Shanks went to Battle Creek, Mich. last week.

The funeral and burial of an infant child of Mr. and Mrs. Jos. Hecker was conducted at St. Mary's Church, and interment made in St. Mary's Cemetery.

The C.E. Blodgett Cheese Co. pf Marshfield is building a warehouse at Thorp. The contract for work has been let to Krasin Bros. of Marshfield, and work has been started.

After the page of the Gleaner on which the notice of the basket social to be given at hemlock Hall was contained had gone to press, word was received that the same was postponed to Feb. 22, so as not to conflict with the lecture course.

Principal F.E. Jaastad recently received a special license from the state board for teaching agriculture in the agricultural course which was added to the high school work this last year. Through this special license the school district will receive $250 extra state aid.

In a letter to the Gleaner from Louis Decker of Girard, Mont. he says they are having a siege of cold weather and some snow. And that everybody is well and prospering.

The Ladies Good Hope Society will meet with Mrs. John Dyre Wednesday, Feb. 19.

The Ladies Aid Society will meet with Mrs. Cummings Feb. 14th, and Mrs. John Stanton Feb. 21.

All those indebted to the E.T. Burch estate will please call at my home and settle their account. -- Mrs. E.T. Burch.

At a business meeting of the Greenwood Baptist Church on Monday, Feb. 10, an invitation was extended to E.L. Powlesland to remain as their pastor until Jan. 1st, 1914.

James Morganson received two thoroughbred Ayrshire calves a few weeks ago from Juneau, Wis. The stock is native to Scotland and is noted for their quantity and quality of milk. Last year he bought a pure bred bull and is going into the breeding and raising of good stock.

Sheriff Hewett was up from Neillsville Wednesday of last week and arrested Frank Garitz. He was taken to Neillsville and given a hearing before court commissioner Kountz and was bound over to circuit court. It is reported the county superintendent will cause several more arrests for not sending children to school.

A.L. Mead of this city, who has been employed by the Roddis Lumber Co. at Park Falls the past two months, arrived home Sunday. About two weeks ago he had the misfortune to fracture a limb and ankle, and was taken to the Park Falls Hospital where he remained until he was able to come home.
