Hrasky, Carol Jean (Marriage - 17 January 1970)

The United Methodist Church of Neillsville was the setting January 17, for the 7 p.m. candlelight wedding of Carol jean Hrasky, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Hrasky of Neillsville and Michael English Hamblin, son of Mrs. E. E. Hamblin, of Virginia Beach, Va., and W. Hamblin of Norfolk, Va. The Rev. William Dushek preformed the double-ring ceremony before approximately 100 guests.

The bride was given in marriage by her father, was attired in a floor length Empire styled bridal gown of white velvet fashioned with three-quarter length sleeves that extended to the wrist in a flattering ruffle of Venice lace. The same lace formed the yoke at the neckline of the A-line silhouette, sweeping into a chapel train. Her bouffant veil of sheer bridal illusion was secured to a face framing garland of Venice lace petals. She carried a flower arrangement of red rose buds.

Miss Jo Ann Bollom of Neillsville was maid of honor and Mrs. Stephanie Robinett, sister of the groom, of Norfolk, Va., was bridesmaid. Their floor-length dresses featured mortar lace Empire styled bodices with long sleeves and jewel necklines accented with a lace ruffle. Ruby red velvet fashioned the A-line skirts. A cluster of satin and velvet loops secured their veils. Each carried a bouquet of straw flowers and roses.

H. A. (Robbie) Robinett of Norfolk, VA., brother-in-law of the groom was bestman and Franklin Hrasky, brother of the bride was groomsman. Greg Baur of Milwaukee served as usher.

The “Lohengrin Wedding March” and “Voluntary Trumpeter” were played on the organ by Mrs. James Musil who also accompanied the singing of a group of fourth grade girls.

White flowers decorated the bridal table at the Merchants Hotel where the wedding reception was held with about 60 guests attending. Following the reception the couple left on a short wedding trip into northern Wisconsin.

The bride is a 1964 Neillsville High School graduate. She attended the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh and Patricia Stevens Modeling and Career School, graduating from the later in 1967. She is employed at the Neillsville Clinic.

The groom graduated from Menomonee Falls High School in 1965 and attended Wisconsin State University-Oshkosh for one year and the University of Wisconsin-Madison for another. He is presently with the United States Navy aboard the USS Leahy.

After March 1, they plan to reside in Virginia Beach, VA.
