On Thursday evening last promptly at seven o'clock, at the home of the brides' parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Vollrath, well-known and respected residents of the West Side, occurred the marriage of their daughter, Ida, to Mr. Jacob Speich.

As the beautiful strains of the wedding march, rendered by Miss Myrtle Syth, floated through the rooms, the bridal party passed down the stairway into the parlor. The bride and groom, attended by the Misses Emma Vollrath and Rose Speich as bridesmaids, and Abe Speich and Albert Fravert as best men, were arranged in a pleasing manner in the parlor under a beautifully constructed arch and draperies, at the bottom of which suspended a wedding bell, all about was a perfect confusion of delicate and fragrant flowers. Rev. Otto Saewert of the German Reformed Church, of the West Side, spoke the words which joined the two hearts for the remainder of life's journey. The ceremony was the usual German method, being very impressive and pleasing to witness.

The bride was attired in a beautiful gown of white mescaline and wore the veil and wreath, carrying white roses. The groom wore the usual conventional black.

The bride has been a resident of this vicinity since a child and has grown to womanhood, honored by old and young, alike. She has been ...(the rest of my copy was cut off)
