Schwanebeck, Ivan C. (16 SEP 1928 - 6 JUL 2013)

Ivan C. Schwanebeck, 84, of Pittsville, was called home by his Lord on Saturday morning, July 6, 2013. He passed away peacefully at Ministry St. Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield.

Funeral services will be 11am Wednesday, July 10, 2013 at the St. John's Lutheran Church in Pittsville with Rev. Mark A. Krueger officiating. Burial will be in Sherwood Cemetery, just north of Ivan's farm.

Visitations will be from 4-7pm Tuesday, at the Buchanan/Rembs Funeral Home in Pittsville and again on Wednesday at the church from 10am until service time.

Ivan was born on September 16, 1928 in the town of Sherwood, Clark County to Charles and Doris (Davis) Schwanebeck. He was united in marriage to Edna H. Wilde on November 1, 1958 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in the town of Sherwood.

Ivan was a lifelong member of St. Paul's, Sherwood resident, and dairy farmer. He used his knack for cultivating things by growing beautiful gardens and caring for his kitties. Ivan also possessed the rare ability to witch wells and kept his carefully selected witching stick close.

Ivan is survived by his wife Edna, children, Ellen (Peter) Leick of Stratford, Randy (Jeri) Schwanebeck of Marshfield and Ken Schwanebeck of Pittsville; three grandchildren, Katie (Jon) Fleming, Jackie (John) Knoll and Travis Leick; two great grandchildren, Kiara and Parker Ann. He is further survived by two sisters, Lois Hasz of Granton and Joyce (Herb) Ziebart of Pittsville.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother Wayne Schwanebeck and a sister Nona Wilde.

Ivan's family would like to thank those who played a part in his care, especially the two nurses on 3North who were with us at the end, Dr. Clouse and Dr. Greenburg. The exceptional care and concern provided by Dr. Luetmer, Dr. Wcisel and the Aspirus Pulmonary and Heart Failure teams will always be remembered. Last but not least thank you to Jackie Knoll who made sure nothing was being overlooked with Grandpa.
