Beilfuss, Elsie (16 November 1883 - 26 January 1970)

Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. at the United Church of Christ for Mrs. Elsie Beilfuss, 86, of 2 Hewett Street, Neillsville who died Tuesday at Luther Hospital of burns suffered in a fire in her apartment on Monday. The Rev. George E. Yons officiated and burial was in the Neillsville City Cemetery.

Mrs. Beilfuss, the former Elsie Dodte, was born Nov. 16, 1883, at Neillsville and received her education in Clark County schools. She graduated from the Neillsville teachers training course there, and from the Oshkosh Normal School. She taught in schools in this area, and on Aug. 15, 1910, she was married at Neillsville to Walter Beilfuss. They lived at Withee from 1910 until 1928, when they moved to Neillsville, where her husband was employed as a teller at the First National Bank.

Mrs. Beilfuss was a member of the United Church of Christ, Carmi Chapter No. 60, Order of the Eastern Star at Neillsville, of which she was a past matron; was a member of the Monday Progress Club, and the Clark County Historical Society.

Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. William Miller, Oak Park, Ill., one son, State Supreme Court Justice Bruce Beilfuss, Madison; a sister, Miss Clarice Dodte, of Memorial Home in Neillsville, one brother, Bernard Dodte of Rt. 1 Neillsville, and three grandchildren.

A brother, Carl Dodte of Spokane, Wash., preceded her in death on Dec. 30, 1969.
